Q & A

Eyelash extensions are single synthetic lashes and are placed one by one directly onto your own lash with semi-permanent surgical glue. The lashes are waterproof and available in different lengths and curls to create the desired outcome. There is no direct skin contact as lashes will be applied to the natural lash, close to the lash line but not touching. The lashes will make a difference in the way you look and feel about yourself. You will have spare time in the morning applying makeup and also you don’t have to bother taking off your eye make up in the evening!

No, they don’t. As long as you choose right eyelash technician, it won’t happen. You just need to be careful to not to choose non-specialist salon/technician.

We won’t overload or use eyelash extensions that will damage your natural lashes. We have worked on hundreds of eyes, so we will know what will suit you and what will be safe for you.

The short answer: Roughly 5-6 weeks depending on your lash cycle and before every lash sheds. You’ll need infill at 2-4 weeks.

Your own lashes will shed naturally and new ones continue to grow.  We naturally shed 5 lashes every day each eye. Infill are recommended, but not always needed. The eyelash extensions will eventually fall out with your own lashes as they naturally shed. Your aftercare will affect how long your lashes last. Everyone’s lash cycle is a little different, but on average, the normal life cycle of a natural lash can be as short as 2 weeks and as long as 8 to 12 weeks.

Absolutely not painful, in fact, you may even fall asleep like other clients. All service comes with free lash nap! A full consultation is done prior to the application. We will discuss what look you are after, and we will give you recommendations what we think is the best length and curl to suit your needs, but completely the choice is yours. The initial application will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours including consultation. All you have to do is relax and keep your eyes  closed. It is totally painless.

Yes, extensions are waterproof. The best things about eyelash extensions are. BUT you must avoid contact with water for the first 2 hours. If possible, you should avoid using a spa, sauna or pool for the first 24 hours. The extensions need that amount of time to properly bond. Gently pat them dry when they get wet.

Yes. You can wear make-up but you will find that curling your lashes and applying eye makeup is really not necessary anymore. With eyelash extensions, your eyes look bigger and brighter. If you use makeup it is important to use an oil-free makeup and removers.

We recommend infill between 2-4 weeks because you will start noticing small gaps where the old lashes have fallen out and new baby lashes start coming through. During an infill appointment we will remove any lashes that have grown out or twisted, and replace them with a new lash.

The eyes and lashes need to be free of make-up, so please do not wear make up around eye area on your appointment. Please do not use even lash curler. This is to ensure the lash extensions bond properly and last longer.

Like your natural lashes. When extensions are correctly bonded with your own lashes, you won’t feel anything uncomfortable. You just feel you have longer lashes.

The first 24 hours are crucial to the bonding procedure

* Avoid contact with water for the first 2 hours.  If possible, you should avoid using a spa, sauna or pool for the first 24 hours.

* Do not use oil-based eye products, creams or mascara. Use only water-based makeup & make up remover.

* Do not perm, tint, or use on eyelash curler.

* Be careful to avoid pulling extensions or rubbing eyes.

* Sleep on your back.

* Brush your lashes regularly.

* Do not rub lashes when washing your face. Gently pat dry after cleansing.

* Remove makeup around the eye with cotton swab, avoiding touching the eyelashes.

I have been attending Yuko’s Eyelashbar for at least 2 years now!!! I have tried over the years so many other eyelash bars around Sydney even the very exclusive salons that charge a fortune and I would choose Yuko over all of them now. She’s professional, caring, genuine and meticulous in her approach. She listens to what you want your lashes to look like. They look so natural and her products are high quality. No adverse reactions ever. She’s Amazing.
